Derrière One Ocean One Breath se cachent deux passionnés d’images qui aiment sillonner et explorer les fonds marins sans l’aide de bouteilles de plongée. Une balade dans les profondeurs, sans oxygène, à la rencontre de leurs habitants…

Eusebio et Christina Saenz de Santamaria ne sont pas liés uniquement par le mariage mais ils le sont aussi par leur passion pour la plongée en apnée. Eusebio enseigne cette discipline au sein d’une école nommée Apnea Total qu’il a co-fondée et il a guidé et coaché autant de débutants que de plongeurs professionnels. Christina enseigne aussi à Apnea Total et elle détient de nombreux records dans cette discipline. Tous deux mettent en images leurs aventures sous-marines sur le site One Ocean One Breath en vidéo ou en photo. Parmi les requins ou les dauphins, voici de quoi s’extasier, s’effrayer ou s’émerveiller.

~ Flashback to the Bahamas ~ Surrounded by sharks is a fantasy to us but a nightmare to others! It is an experience we crave but we realise there is a fine line between our daring, our knowledge, our experience and carelessness. Your guard can never be dropped when freediving with sharks, they are animals acting on instinct alone afterall, but we humans are definitely not on their menu. We understand that kneeling next to and beneath two gliding sharks may be out of the comfort zone of some and the fine line between us and them is very real and we never once forget that we have entered their territory, but we also never once felt in danger during this shark expedition. ~ Eye Contact ~ Missing some of this incredible eye contact at the moment! Here Eusebio stares down a very curious lemon shark in the Grand Bahamas during our expedition last year. The power of eye contact with sharks is important when in the water with them, signifying to the shark that you see them which takes away one of their instinctive 'advantages'. We would often avert eye contact with the more shy sharks so not to scare them away, however with extremely curious sharks such as this one, strong direct eye contact was necessary! #freediving #onebreath #apnea #underwater #ocean #sharks #lemonshark #bahamas #tigerbeach #theworldisblue #alifewithoutgravity #eyecontact

⭐️ Our Discovery Channel 'Daily Planet' episode airs today! ⭐️ For all US and Canadian friends, our world record freedive together to 100 metres depth (330 feet) will air this Monday Nov 3rd at 7pm EST / 4PM PST. Then it will stream online in the US the next day. This dive was a world's first dive for two people (Eusebio and I) to descend together to a depth of 100 metres on one breath alone in the discipline of Variable Weight. This involved us riding a weighted sled to the depths as pictured here and ascending under our own power using only self-power of our arms pulling on the dive rope and our legs to kick. It was an incredible experience and to accomplish this dive together as freedivers and husband-wife even better!
