Instagram : des photos de meilleure qualité avec l’apparition du 1080 px

Après les emojis ou encore les hastags, Instagram passe un nouveau cap et développe ce qui fait sa force intrinsèque. Enfin, les photos sur Instagram pourront être publiées et partagées en 1080 x 1080 pixels.

Cinq années après sa création, Instagram était bien obligé d’emboîter le pas de la technologie. Une décision un peu tardive mais grandement logique, avec des smartphones dont les écrans se dotent d’une meilleure résolution et de capteurs d’appareils photo toujours plus performants. Terminé l’archaïque 600 x 600 pixels, voici donc du 1080 et si la qualité ne devrait pas incroyablement changer, logiquement, les clichés seront plus précis et détaillés au visionnage. Allez, pour la prochaine mise à jour, Instagram se décidera-t-il à revoir la qualité de compression sur Android qui a bien mauvaise mine en comparaison à ce qui se fait sur iOS ?

Cello player Michael Levin (@michaelcello) didn’t quite run off and join the circus, but his trajectory is pretty close. In 2009, he auditioned for the Cirque du Soleil database. “In order to become an artist in one of Cirque’s shows, you first have to audition online and be accepted into their database,” says Michael. “From there, they’ll pluck their talent.” A year and a half ago, he signed a two-year contract to play the “gypsy jazz, electro swing” music for the show “Kurios.” And this being Cirque, he had to look the part. “I don’t know how many types of eyeliner I went through.” (Rebecca Haithcoat for @music) Photo by @michaelcello

“I literally moved from New York City to a studio apartment on wheels. It was so awesome. I would be in a new city every week. I would push my piano out to the street and play. Monthly Hashtag Project: #MHPmusicmuse This month’s hashtag project is to make portraits of people in your life who inspire you musically. Examples include a family member, a talented musician or a friend you share songs with. Our project takes inspiration from 29-year-old photographer Rambo (@rambo), who’s best known for her portraits of singer Leon Bridges (@leonbridgesofficial). “Photography can work like music works. It doesn’t always need to be these clean, precise images,” says Rambo. “You have to learn how to pour through a lens instead of a guitar.” Some tips to get you started: Make candid portraits that capture your subject in a natural moment; get to know more about your subject before taking their portrait; and look to make the most honest images possible. “If everyone is honest in photography, then everyone should be able to take the same picture and it all comes out differently,” says Rambo. Hong Kong doesn’t so much delight the senses as bombard them from every direction. The aroma of freshly barbecued char siu in a nearby restaurant, shouting matches among neighboring street vendors and endless rows of neon lights are just a few things that give the island its vitality – and provide the inspiration to singer-songwriter Kevin Kaho Tsui’s (@kevinkahotsui) location-based music and pictures. “I’ve always just wanted to make something different from everything else, and music in this city – mainstream or indie – is always about love or breakups,” he says. “No one has ever written about the city or the culture in English, so I saw that as a new option for me and went for it.” Photo by @kevinkahotsui
